The Toadies
“Forgiven”
After selling a cool million copies of their 1994 debut album, Rubbernecker, the Toadies' follow-up Feeler was flat out rejected by their label, leading to the eventual splintering of the band. Fast-forward to 2010 and a newly refreshed band, buoyed by enthusiastic fans, returned to finish the long-delayed album. With more than a decade of touring, recording and life experience between the two sessions, the 2010 version of Feeler explodes with sound and fury. While in the studio, the band had time for a few extra songs, and we here at Zippo are lucky enough to have an exclusive track to give away. The dark, deep “Forgiven” finds The Toadies in peak form, after all these years.

Drowning Pool has persevered through the death of their first singer and losing their second, emerging as a stronger unit than ever before. After their biggest single ever, "37 Stitches" and four years of non-stop touring, culminating with 2009's Crüe Fest 2, the Dallas quartet just released its self-titled fourth full-length album. Louder, harder and more diverse than the band’s previous albums, the new one is very much the work of a band in total command of its sound, tearing through songs with confidence, life experience and technical chops. And as the band members themselves get stronger, they give strength to others, having been instrumental in the passing of the Senator Obama-sponsored Lane Evans Health Act, which provides better mental health care for veterans. Be sure to catch Drowning Pool on tour this October with co-headliners Godsmack!

Brothers Aron and Robert Mardo have been making music together in various incarnations practically their whole lives. As Heavy Young Heathens they beat the drums and play the bass respectively. Last year, songs were written, an album recorded, and a tour booked. Now they’ve got a few songs on the radio, a theme song for an MTV show, and a newly minted EP called Make Room For Youth. With an independent approach and hard rock in their veins, Heavy Young Heathens are quickly carving out their own destiny.
